I'm headed back into the classroom for my second shot at Yoga today. I tried it last year and didn't last more than one class - probably didn't give it a fair shake. With that said, I am committed to attending more than one class in order to see if a few tries it what it takes to get hooked. I need the flexibility and outlet that I expect something like yoga to provide so I really do hope that the class is productive.

Yoga bores me. I hope you come to enjoy it more than I do. I know lots of people who swear by it. If you can't get into after a few tries, maybe give Tai Chi a shot. I found that to be a great alternative. I went to "Heaven on Earth" in your town for my Tai Chai classes. Highly recommend it, if the yoga thing doesn't work out.
Arrgh! Now I'm missing Red's again . . .
I just re-joined last week. I think I would like it more if it weren't for all of the super-healthy people walking around mocking my laziness...
pick up road cycling. great release, exhausts you, and you can burn 1000 calories and hour. Plus, aside from tired muscles, the soreness tends to be much less than in other activities.
Surfing is my next challenge...
My first (and only) yoga encounter: When I was 7 months preggers had this brilliant idea to try yoga. Bad idea. Some strange pose and I must have cut off circulation to my brain. I passed out and had to be revived. I didn't go back.
Hope you enjoyed your class.
@Brenda: Well, I didn't pass out...so it went a little better than your one experience :-)
@rc: Road cycling sounds more ambitious then I am ready for. In conjunction with yoga though, I have started some periodic cardio workouts on some exercise bikes at the health club. Does that count? Not sure if surfing is to be found around here...
Love Reds, except there's carpet everywhere in that place that always smells a bit damp. That kind of eeks me out. They should either rip it all out and replace it with linoleum or something moppable or they should invest in dehumidifiers.
Can't say I love Reds...but I am giving it another shot. I need to find a few more things to invest my time in when I am there. I have a feeling the cardio workouts on the bike are going to get boring. Thing is, all those stair looking arm swinging machines kind of intimidate me. I mean, it took me 5-10 minutes to figure out how to work a damn bike.

pedal?
Cycling would be good for you!
