Good Luck
As we are leaving our hotel for game (wearing my Donovan jersey):
Mexican fan: Good luck!
Us: Thanks!
Mexican fan: We hate Donovan, but good luck anyway!
Us: Thanks!
Game Day
It's our first morning in Jo'burg and it's game day! Every guest in the hotel is here for the World Cup (not exaggerating, our travel company booked the entire hotel). They bake their own croissants the size of a small football. That and the cool view of the city were a great start to the morning. Our bus leaves for the US vs England game in about one hour.

World Cup Fever
Beyond travel, today was a relatively simple day. 17 hours on a plane, dinner while watching the France/Uruguay game and now headed to bed. Tomorrow is US vs England. Despite the small exposure to details of South Africa thus far, it is clear that World Cup fever is everywhere. Almost every sign is soccer related, 80% of people are wearing a jersey that is green and gold, you never stop hearing vuvuzelas. Our flight crew had the fever as well - this is a photo of them stopping work to stare out the plane window as we passed Soccer City during the SA game. Managed to convince my wife to pose with one of them as well. Looking forward to tomorrow.
