The Jim Carroll Band - People Who Died

Jim Carroll passed away on 9/11. Jim was an inspiration for me when I was in college, his poetry helping me get through some really tough times. I haven't read his work in a while and I wonder if it would have the same appeal to me now that I am older (my favorite poet these days is Pablo Neruda). Regardless, here's a punk rock tune by The Jim Carroll Band that you may or may not have heard in the past.

Mary took a dry dive from a hotel room
Bobby hung himself from a cell in the tombs
Judy jumped in front of a subway train
Eddie got slit in the jugular vein
And Eddie, I miss you more than all the others
And I salute you brother

Those are people who died, died
They were all my friends, and they died
