Gustav Update

We have heard from a couple of our friends who stayed behind (retired and Mark) and both report that our house is undamaged. The major risk for most homes is in the wind and tree category and neither appear to have damaged our house (or our friends). So far, good news. We may be trying to head home today if we can figure out a good path south.

So glad to hear the good news. Thank you for your updates.

I'm looking for info about LFT, but the national media only wants to talk about NO. Did the eye of the storm go through LFT? What category was the hurricane when it passed LFT?

Been thinking of you all weekend. Glad you played it safe. Glad retired, declouet, pele, et al. are all doing well.

The eye did pass right through Lafayette. I don't even want to get started on the media coverage.

I believe it was a low 2 as it finally got to us. Winds were between 80-100 mph. It passed over pretty quickly though. I'd guess atleast 60-75% of the city has power.

That's the exact information I was looking for. Thanks, pele.
