"Making groceries" is a direct translation from French, and now it's part of the Cajun English dialect! Just like "getting down" from the car.
I like these little verbal ticks. It is odd when you find them in a newspaper. I had to read the article twice to make sure I was getting the correct message. Pretty neat.
