Starting Over...

I have a new toy.

...and I am learning how to use a computer all over again.

I got a MacBook Pro last month and love the thing. It's my first Mac. So much more great software than I thought and I can still run XP in boot camp when I'm on site in MS for work. Hope you guys had/having a nice Holiday, we'll be driving through your part of the country tomorrow from Dallas to Biloxi.

jim: Safe travels! If you want to grab a burger let me know, we know a great burger joint here. Maybe I can get some Mac tips from you someday...

pele: I'm not sure I know exactly what you are asking. I know that this runs windows office if I want it to...but I am pretty uch completely illiterate when it comes to this thing. It took me _too long_ to find the way to monitor performance and processes. It's seriously like learning how to use a computer all over again...

pele: to add to my info, it is running MAC OS X 10.5.1 and I _think_ that makes it potentially compatible.

Yeah, if it runs Windoze it is. Also, my buddy started a local apple group, the AAAUG, Acadiana Area Apple User Group. They meet once a month at UL and are all big apple fan boys. Every meeting they talk about something new or apple related. You could learn alot from them. website

My laptop just died and after paying $99 to extract all of the files from it, I had to walk away after all these years. :(

So now. . . I'm looking at getting a MacBook. I used apples back in the day when they sold grey scale "powerbooks," and I completely miss them!

But oy, the price is so much higher. Is it worth it? Do you love it? Glad to hear Jim's positive feedback.
