John Prine and Bonnie Raitt - Angel from Montgomery

I am just starting to get to know John Prine and I think I am going to have a really enjoyable journey. Check out this live version of Angel from Montgomery that he performed with Bonnie Raitt. Great song.

If you like that song you need to hear the Susan Tedeschi version as well.

I love John Prine. You have a huge volume of great old stuff to discover. His latest album really has that "old master" feel. His voice has changed a great deal. He fought throat cancer, I believe, and worked himself back to singing again.

I'm glad you liked the Susan Tedeschi version. She is an awesome musician (married to Derek Trucks who fronts his own jam band and also periodically plays the master of slide guitar Duane Allman role in The Allman Brothers Band). Her recordings are good, but if you get a chance to see this little woman on stage rocking her guitar and belting out the blues you will be completely sold.
