The Great Paint Showdown (Den Version)

Per request. Your votes can be cast. Pick your paint choice for our new den. My preference is the Rustic Brick. Carlee prefers the Pumpkin Cream. Personally, I feel the Rustic Brick is more fitting for a den.

Carlee may argue that I really wanted Salsa or Nacho Cheese but I will go ahead and remind her now that Rustic Brick was my first choice. Really, it was. And truly, Nacho Cheese is just as cool but I am playing this hand with Rustic Brick.

So the incumbent is to the left (Pumpkin Cream). The challenger is to the right (Rustic Brick). Cast your vote (you loyal readership of 5). Personally, if I get more than 5 votes on this gig, I just may consider this the way we pick the paint for the rest of the house.

How much light does the room in question get?

Pumpkin Cream.

The other seams a little dark and I find the pumpkin cream more interesting a color.

There are 2 windows. The sun is pretty good. I thinks den should be kind of dark. Susan, would you reconsider if I told you the lighting was very good?

Exactly what I was getting at with the whole natural light thing. Rustic Brick.

Ok - here's my take. IF you are going the whole classic dark den then I think you go all the way. Brown, dark blue or dark green. For me - dark reddish brown does not really fit into the classic dark den thing.

I think the pumpkin creme is a more modern" color in general. OF course that means in a few years it could look dated.

Full disclosure, I came into this biased towards supporting the husband. But, I like orange rooms. Pumpkin Cream.

I'd go with the Pumpkin Cream. It has the dark, serious den feel without it being heavy and opressive. Not that I would have said anything at all if Luke hadn't invited me.

Damn. I attracted a vote for pumpkin cream. Oh well. The seventies were good for me.

I'm sorry baby sis, Carlee, but I must go with rustic brick. Maybe it was all my days at UT that turned me off to orange.
