Here is Beirut performing Guyamas Sonora from their latest CD, The Flying Club Cup. This is a really interesting group, now featured for a second time on the Monthly Mix as of "silvery, silvery citibank lights." They were also on "Tiptoe Through Our Shiny City" with a track called Scenic World, one of my wife's favorites these days. The band is from Santa Fe and it combines elements of Eastern European and folk sounds.
This version of Guyamas Sonora was recorded by La Blogotheque as a part of their Take Away Shows, which are all really awesome. The studio version obviously sounds a little different. Enjoy.
