"When the new season begins next month in Argentina (the clausura), so too will the use of an intriguing innovation: Referees in the top division will be equipped with a can of aerosol spray. On free kicks, they will step off 10 yards and mark the distance with a white line that will vanish in less than a minute. "
Sounds like a great idea to me.

I think it takes away from the game. Part of the game as a member of the "wall" is inching up the second the referee turns thier back. It takes away some of the gamesmanship. It is like the goal line instant replay in soccer, not a fan. The players make mistakes, as do the ref's. Some of the greatest moments in soccer have come from missed calls.
