Matriculate

My wife and I were watching SportsCenter on Sunday night and as a player ran down the field for a touchdown, the announcer stated that he was "matriculating" down the field. Confused, I looked up the term at the urging of my wife. No luck. Then, upon searching for "matriculate sportscenter" we came across the following reference in the Urban Dictionary. Interesting.
