Local Cuisine

Had lunch at Gramadoelas, a famous traditional South African cuisine restaurant in Jozi today. Excellent mussels and Boboti (a ground meat with egg and about 6 different dipping sauces). Check out the makarapas outside the front in the photo above. The other shot is of the game TV as we watched the Netherlands beat Denmark during lunch.

Dinner was at the hotel, which hosted a traditional dinner featuring Pap (a kind of porridge with beef stew), roasted chicken, homemade bread and other local fare.

In general, I'd have to say the food here is really good...which I cannot say I was necessarily expecting. I wasn't expecting it to be bad either, probably just expected it to be hard to find the good stuff. That hasn't been the case at all.
