Fulham Partners With US Soccer

Fulham has signed an exclusive deal to hire as many US National Team players as possible and create a pseudo-US club team in the English Premier League. Already on the roster are Brian McBride and Carlos Bocanegra. Clint Dempsey is now signed and the deal is only pending a work permit. Rumors are out that Oguchi Onyewu is on the list of US players making the trip as well... In total that would make 4 US starters on the team. Sweet.

I doubt it. And BTW, since I know you don't follow the EPL, my post was 100% sarcastic. The rumors of the players moving is true, the partnership is BS. :-)

Nice post, it does seem strange that the Fulham manager Chris Coleman has such a desire to sign US guys. Even though I am often a critic of McBride's first touch, his game is very well suited for the rough premier league, and you would have a tough time finding anyone that works harder. I have to imagine that Coleman wants more guys like this. Gooch is a no-go, Fulham won't go above the $1.9M dollar mark for him, but "The Deuce" is all set. $4M transfer fee. He is a bit of a bad@ss, but I think that is what you need to excel in that league. What other US player actually takes defenders on 1 v.1, and can be successful at it? The list is short. Good luck Clint.
