The Cult of Drogba

Didier Drogba is one of the front runners for the top players in the EPL this season. Unfortunately, if Manchester United continues to lead the league, I am worried that Ronaldo will take the honors. Drogba routinely rips up the pitch and scores fantastic goals in the EPL. His leadership of the Les Éléphants (the Ivory Coast national team) this past year helped lead to an explosion of a new dance craze in the Côte d'Ivoire. The dance craze and music that has grown to support it is known as Drogbacité, based somewhat on Drogba's moves on the pitch. You can go here to read more about the cult of Drogba as well as even download a mp3 from a new Drogbacité compilation called Boucantier.

Here's one of his more recent, spectacular goals. This has got to be about a 30-35 yard volley.

Against our own Timmy Howard (Everton)...

I haven't seen many goalies that could have stopped that. No need to blame Timmy. That shot is just magic.
